Landed! It’s 5:30 am and the 14 hour flight is over.  Loved the in-house movie “The Fastest Indian” and “Winston’s Secret”. I’m excited and everyone else is asleep. Arrived at Bamber House to a locked door, creaky steps, and crashing on an old church pew.

Three days in, a head cold, jet lag, and little patience for an incomprehensible Auckland transit system, I find a nice ferry ride to Waitheke Island on a tour called ‘A taste of Waiheke’.  It was great to leave the craziness of Auckland and taste a wine or two.  Highly recommended!
